From Peter "Madcat" Ruth:
This is an update of the civil rights song from the 1960s.
Laz Slomovits wrote verses 1, 2, and 4, I wrote verse 3, and verses 5 and 6 were from the 1960s. This was recorded in my home studio. I sang all the parts and played all the instruments.
The song Keep Your Eyes On The Prize from the 1960s was a remake an old gospel song, Keep Your Hand On The Plow, with updated lyrics which were sung at civil rights rallies, sit-ins, and marches. I first heard it on a Pete Seeger LP which was recorded in 1963.
I hope you enjoy it.
Feel free to sing this song and to share this recording widely.
