This song was written in 2012 largely in response to Michigan’s one party rule. Hoodang songwriters Dave Keeney and David Rossiter believe the harsh, deeply cynical tenor of the lyrics has, in the wake of the election of #45, become an increasingly accurate reflection of the dark, self-serving mindset of those currently holding the reins of power in early 2017.
